44GS inspired by the full moon over the Shinshu mountains

The 44GS design was introduced in 1967, and defined Grand Seiko's unique design language that still guides the design of the manufacture's timepieces today. To celebrate its 55th anniversary, this SBGY009 model reinterprets the design of the 44GS, becoming slimmer thanks to the use of the hand-wound Spring Drive 9R31 caliber and adorned with a blue dial.
The 40mm stainless steel case houses a dial that captures light from all angles, recreating the moon's radiance on the landscape at the highest point of the sky.

The movement uses a double spring barrel to keep the movement compact and provide a longer 72-hour power reserve.
